Here's a fun summer project from Maya Road

Did you know that Maya Mists used on fabrics and heat set? It is very simple to do. If you have some old t-shirts, they make a great base for this project! Here's step-by-step instructions as well as some tips when doing shirts like this!
Supply list:
1. Cotton t-shirts (prewashed, no fabric softener)
2. Your favorite Maya Mist Base Colors (we used red, orange, green, blue and purple)
3. Plastic disposable gloves (we used this to keep our hands clean)
4. A box (for containing the Mist during the spraying)
5. A spray bottle with water

How to:
Start by putting your t-shirt in the box Starting in the middle, twirl your t-shirt in a spiral fashion til it fits into the box.
Next we used the water sprayer and spritzed the t-shirt with some water - give it a good soak as this allows the mists to blend together. Next put on your gloves and start adding mists to the t-shirt.
Repeat with some of the different mist colors and inbetween colors, spritz with water to blend the colors. Your shirt will then look like this.
Go ahead and unroll the shirt - if you see spots where there is not enough color (too much white), repeat the steps to add colors til desired and then repeat for the backside of the shirt.
When you are happy with your tie dyed shirt, allow to dry in the sun for 24 hours - making sure your shirt is dry. Afterwards, heat set the shirt alone in the dryer on high for 20 mins or alternatively, iron the t-shirt on high cotton setting to set the colors.
Enjoy your shirt! If you create shirts like this with your kids, make sure you supervise them and do not allow them to use the dryer/iron.
If you want to try other fabrics, make sure you do a test patch first! The Maya Mists work great on cotton fabrics.
