November is such a great time to reflect on all of our blessings and be "Thankful" for all that we have. Kelly made up these cheery Thankful letters for her own home, but they were just so cute, we wanted to give you the opportunity to have the wood as well. We have 5 sets of the Wood Only available for sale for $24. If you are interested, call the Bountiful store (801-294-7166) today and reserve yours. We would be happy to send them out to be picked up in Taylorsville if that is more convenient for you. Because we are so close to the Thanksgiving holiday, this is only very limited edition wood.
Kelly painted the letters brown and used a combination of Basic Grey Christmas, Travel and My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy papers.

Don't these snow flurries just put you in the mood for Christmas decorating? Ooh, it is so much fun! Today on Studio 5 we showed 5 unique countdowns, so there is a little something for everyone. Pick the one you love and order a kit or make it from scratch.
These first three calendars are being offered as kits so if you don't want the stress of designing your own, call and order one of these today. Kits will be available for pick up on November 24th so you will have the entire Thanksgiving weekend to put it together. Kits come with everything you need to make the project. We are also happy to ship kits if you don't live close to our stores.
The Muffin Tin- A few years back, we did a muffin tin countdown that we still get requests for. So, here is the 2010 version.
Kits are $28 and include the muffin tin, magnets and everything else you need.
If you would like to create this look on your own, here are some instructions:
Ingredients you need:
1 mini muffin tin with 24 holes
1 Sheet Echo Park Countdown Paper
5 12X12 Sheets Coordinating cardstock
Magnets
Ribbon
Embellishments
Circle Punches
Instructions:
1. Punch out circles from cardstock using a large circle punch that completely covers the muffin hole. Punch out Echo Park paper using a smaller scalloped punch.
2. Attach magnets to the top and bottom of each cardstock piece (on the back) so that they will stick to the muffin tin and hold a treat in place.
3. Decorate each circle as desired
4. Punch or drill a hole through the top of the tin and add ribbon as desired.
Magnet Board Countdown- The little vintage vignettes around the edge of this countdown are magnetic, so you can add one or pull one off each day of December. The center of this countdown is layered so the images stand out.
Kits are $26 and include the magnet board, magnets, and all the trimmings
Pocket Garland Countdown- this countdown is adorable hung on a mantle or banister. It is bright and fun and so easy to make.
Kits for this countdown are $18
To make this countdown on your own:
Ingredients you will need:
5 Sheets of Coordinating Cardstock
1 Sheet of Imaginisce Countdown Paper
Raffia for threading garland
Ribbon for tying between pockets
Sewing Machine or Stapler
Instructions:
1. Cut apart Imaginisce countdown paper so that numbers are each separate.
2. Cut strips of cardstock to match each number width.
3. Adhere numbers to fronts of pockets
4. Fold cardstock to create a pocket and either sew the edges of the pocket or staple the edges shut.
5. Punch holes in top corners of each pocket
6. Thread pockets onto raffia and tie knots of coordinating ribbon between pockets.
7. Stuff pockets with treats and goodies
(this is what the Imaginisce paper looks like)
We also made up 2 countdowns using some of the Kaisercraft wood pieces. These are so fun.
The box retails for $29.99 and it comes with the numbers. You can then paint it and add all the goodies to make it your own.
The Tree is also very fun. It retails for $34.99. To create this look, simply paint the tree (we recommend spray paint for all the little grooves), then tie treats and tags (we used the imaginisce paper cut up) with fun coordinating ribbon. So cute and so easy!
Today on Studio 5 we gave a few fun ideas for creating "Itty Bitty Banners". These little miniature banners are a great way to add character to shelves, tables, cakes, windows, chairs...the possibilities are endless!
These bitty banners were made using double sided paper and paper punches. Get creative with the punches you own, or come and check out the huge variety of punches we sell.
The banner on this cake and pedestal was so simple! It was made using the new sticker sheet from My Mind's Eye. Just simply peel them off and adhere them to a thin ribbon or string.
We used this same banner on our cute lime green chair to add a little bit of Flair!
We used the same line (Fine and Dandy from My Mind's Eye) to create this adorable cupcake banner. To create this banner, just adhere sticker pennants to cardstock and cut around edges. Then, add the coordinating letters and adhere to pom-pom ribbon using scor-tape. Lastly, tie the ribbon around two skewers and stick them in cupcakes as desired.
Or, if you would prefer to make your own mini pennant out of patterned paper, you can download the template here for two different sizes of pennants. Download Pennant Template
This banner is great for draping on doors, mantles, headboards, etc. To make this banner, simply punch circles (we used 1.75") from double sided pattern paper and sew together with your sewing machine. It is so easy!
Here is a 1" version of the sewn circle banner. This is so cute and petite! It is also very inexpensive to make out of scraps, so you can use it for gift wrap!
With fall in the air, this leaf banner is a perfect little accent decoration. We made this banner with cardstock leaves (we used the EK Success Maple Leaf Whale of a Punch) and natural twine. Just thread a needle with twine or ribbon of your choice and sew through both ends of the leaves. We added a few buttons between the leaves as accent pieces.
This banner would be adorable draped on your Thanksgiving table or on a mantle for the big feast!
For those of you who made our Butterfly Chandelier last year, this is another perfect piece for a little girls room. It would also be adorable as a decoration at a baby shower.
To make this banner, simply string pony beads and butterfly punches cut from vellum and cardstock (EK Success Whale of a Punch) onto fishing line. This banner is so fun in a window because the beads and vellum catch the light and look very etherial.
Beware, these little banners are very addicting. You can't make just one. Get creative and have fun!
